Need a hand with that? An armload of thrown weapons

At Spring Fling II over the weekend I witnessed something Id never seen before: Someone took the field with only thrown weapons!

Some were placed at hay bails (opponent flag placements for capture the flag) but the rest were carried. A righteous armload of death.

Lay on was called and. The opponent launched a bolt and missed. Thrown weapons ran up and rained down death in successive throws.

Should we combat archers not all carry at least one weapon?

Here is my proposal, if anyone authorizes siege, they should also authorize CA. The engines could store a cache of thrown weapons at the engine. If an opponent gets too close, step away from the engine and engage with thrown weapons! You could also say authorize in sword and board as well, but I find most S&B are in the field.

Can you imagine if a heavy gets in the minimum safe distance and is charging the engine, then the engineers break off,  grab weapons and pummel them?

BRILLIANT! Id pay to see that!
